Weedy rice (red rice) is considered an agronomic pest in certain parts of the US. Populations of ALS-resistant weedy rice have been confirmed in Arkansas and Texas. Specifically, these herbicide resistant populations have confirmed resistance to imazethapyr (Pursuit). Effective management requires diversified herbicide applications with other effective modes of action.
